01

Interfaith Dialogue

Interfaith Dialogue and Peace Building are at the core of the Centre’s work and activities. This involves active involvement and promotion of conversations among the different faith groups in the region. The Centre aspires to be a leading institution by coordinating and promoting honest and sincere dialogue between the faith groups, religious leaders, and all stakeholders. The Centre will also serve as a platform for inclusive dialogue and advocacy initiatives.

02

Peace Building

Peace Building will form an integral aspect of the Centre’s activities. The focus here is education for peace, which includes conflict resolution, conflict transformation, negotiation, mediation, and conciliation. Peacemaking is not an optional commitment. It is a requirement of our faith. To avoid war and violent conflicts in our day, we must be intent on building peace in an increasingly interdependent world. (UCBC, THE CHALLENGE OF PEACE 1983).

03

Research

The research project will contribute to the development of a conceptually coherent, theologically accurate, spiritually enlivening, and practically effective approach to peacebuilding that could complement, clarify, and match the complexity of the ethics of conflicts and peace. This involves critical conflict analysis, taking into consideration root causes and how to mitigate them.

STRATEGIC AIMS AND OBJECTIVES:

The Centre aims to bring people of all faiths together to explore our shared values, our common goals, and the theological foundations of the world’s religions in order to foster genuine understanding. In addition, by fighting religious stereotypes and intolerance, we work together toward a society of justice and peace, making religions the voice of humanity and the conscience of society.
